Suntory Holdings is to dedicate the next two months to an employee humanitarian programme that will see its global units take part in a number of charity activations.
The ‘Global Action for Humanity’ project covers Suntory’s 40,000 employees and includes giving food to children in need and volunteering with the Red Cross. Suntory said the two-month programme, covering November and December, will allow staff to “recognise the importance of respecting and valuing other’s happiness in their daily work”.
“As a company that aims to enrich people’s lives through our products and services, passion for people and respect for all humankind are essential for the company to continue growing for good,” said Tomomi Fukumoto, COO of corporate sustainability at Suntory. “I would like to encourage all our employees across the globe to take their time to give back to society and reaffirm the importance of human connections in our life and business.”
Suntory will donate US$1 for each employee in the programme up to a total of US$40,000 to fight the COVID-19 pandemic.
