Nicki Nicole, Eslabon Armado & More Latin Teen Artists to Keep on Your Radar

A new wave of Latin artists is marking territory in the entertainment industry with their fresh musical proposals and unique flow.

From new Regional Mexican gems to the rising pop-urban generation, check out 22 teen artists, including Billboard chart-topper Junior H and Latin Grammy nominee Angela Aguilar, among others, already changing the game.

Adexe & Nau
Ages: 15, 18

Hailing from Santa Cruz de Tenerife, comes Nauzet and Adexe Gutiérrez Hernández. The Canarian brothers kicked off their career in 2015 by uploading their covers on YouTube. In 2017 they signed their first record contract with Sony US Latin in Miami. In the span of five years, the Spanish phenomenon has already collaborated with artists such as MYA and Abraham Mateo.

Alaina Castillo
Age: 19

With her dulcet voice and soothing melodies, Alaina Castillo is a Texas-born artist who made her big debut in 2019 with her single “i don’t think i love you anymore.” The 19-year-old Mexican-American bilingual singer-songwriter pens beautiful ballads as heard in her EPs Antisocial Butterfly, the voicenotes, mensajes de voz, and her latest single “triste como yo.”

Angela Aguilar
Age: 16

Ángela Aguilar released her first album, Primero Soy Mexicana, in early 2018, which nabbed her a Latin Grammy nomination for best Ranchero/Mariachi album. At the 19th Annual Latin Grammy Awards, she also received a nomination for best new artist. Following the footsteps of her father Pepe Aguilar and grandparents Antonio Aguilar and Flor Silvestre, Angela keeps true to her Mexican folk and ranchera essence.

Antonia Jones
Age: 19

Colombian-born emerging artist Antonia Jones is making her way in the music industry with her empowering lyrics, fresh musical proposal, and sultry vocals. Not afraid to voice her thoughts, Jones has dropped songs that reflect a woman’s independence, self-love, adventurous side, and much more, to a pop-funk-R&B melody. With her singles “Pago Yo,” “Aventurera” and “Sexo Sentido” making the rounds, Jones is an artist you should not sleep on.

Aron Luix
Age: 18

Aron Luix is ready to make waves in the music industry with his forthcoming debut single “Inocente,” produced by Rude Boyz. This also marks Luix’s first single under WK Records, Walter Kolm’s new record label, distributed by The Orchard and serves as an incubator for rising urban talent. Age: 17

Upcoming Colombian artist Beéle first got on the radar with his 2019 single “Loco,” a breezy reggae-infused dancehall track released under Heat This Music. His breakout track puts in perspective his musical proposal, bringing to the table his enthralling soft vocals and lots of tropical vibes. Seven months after its release, Natti Natasha, Manuel Turizo, and Farruko jumped on the remix.

Age: 13

Up-and-coming singer Bryanne is a Miami-based artist who’s already dropping singles in English and Spanish. At such a young age, the aspiring songstress has already worked with popular urban composers and producers such as Eliel “el que habla con las manos”, Gaz Wez, Acid, y Wise “The Golden Pen.” Her single “Unidos,” born during the Coronavirus quarantine, brings a sense of hope and positivity to kids her age amid the global pandemic.

David Bernal
Age: 18

With his boy-next-door, clean-cut look and sugary vocals, DEL Records is betting it all on rising artist David Bernal. On Friday (July 10), the 18-year-old dropped his debut studio album El Rey Verde, which includes popular singles “Veneno Miel,” “Rosa y Verde,” and many more. Of his set, Bernal says it shows his evolution as well as some personal tunes.

Eslabon Armado
Ages: 16 – 18

Mexican teen trio Eslabon Armado, composed by Pedro Tovar, Brian Tovar and Gabriel Hidalgo, has captivated the industry with their traditional sierreña music and romantic lyrics. Their debut studio album Tu Veneno Mortal, released under DEL Records, scored the Mexican-American trio their first top 10 on Billboard’s Top Latin Albums, arriving at No. 9 chart dated May 16.

Age: 18

Rancho Humilde’s Everardo, and CEO of his E.V.E.R MOB Records LLC, is an 18-year-old artist and aspiring industry leaders who, in his own words, likes to “ride his own wave.” Under the wing of Rancho Humilde, Everardo’s crisp vocals and fresh sounds bring a different proposal to the blossoming Regional Urban scene.

J.I. Prince of NY
Age: 18

Hailing from Brooklyn is Latinx singer J.I. Prince of NY, and a G•Starr Ent./Geffen/Interscope Records breakout rapper. The 18-year-old Puerto Rican artist is currently making the rounds with “Spanglish,” his first-ever collaborative effort with Myke Towers in which J.I. flaunts his Spanish-speaking skills for the first time and Towers sings in English too.

Joseph el de la Urba
Age: 18

With his deep vocals and chill reggaeton vibes, Joseph el de la Urba is a rising Puerto Rican artist. In his blossoming career, Joseph has already nabbed a major collaboration with reggaeton veteran Ñengo Flow for his song “Enciendelo,” which also features Jamby el Favo. Joseph is currently making the rounds with his new single “Una Vez.”

Junior H
Age: 18

The Guanajuato-born artist is officially the youngest act to score a top 10 on Billboard’s Top Latin Albums chart (after Natanael Cano) thanks to his debut studio album Atrapado En Un Sueño, released under Rancho Humilde. With his mesmerizing requintos, Junior brings to the regional Mexican scene his infectious tumbao corridos about ambition, being optimistic, the street life, toxic relationships, and more.

Justin Rarri
Age: 17

Justin Rarri is a 17-year-old Dominican-American rapper hailing from the Bronx. The emerging Latinx artist is currently making the rounds with his single “2 Seater,” in which he pays homage to his Dominican heritage by sampling Luis Vargas’ timeless ‘90s bachata “Loco De Amor.”

Age: 19

Discovered by Latin producers Chris Jeday and Gaby Music, Lunay became a household name with his 2019 hit “Soltera” and its remix featuring Daddy Yankee and Bad Bunny. On the Billboard charts, the 19-year-old Puerto Rican peaked No. 28 on the Emerging Artists chart dated May 25, 2019. Lunay has had entries on the Billboard Hot 100, Hot Latin Songs and Latin Airplay charts. He also scored his first Top Latin Albums top five with his debut album Epico.

Age: 19

At only 19 years old, rising producer MVSIS (real name: Michael Bryan Masís) has many hits up his sleeves, including Jhay Cortez’s “No Me Conoce (Remix)” with J Balvin and Bad Bunny and Cortez’s “Medusa” with Anuel and Balvin. The Puerto Rican prodigy is also the younger brother of the Latin hitmaker Tainy.

Natanel Cano
Age: 19

Mexican singer-songwriter Natanael Cano is leading the rising trap corridos movement, shedding the spotlight on his distinguishable corridos tumbados melodies and lyrics about having swag and running the streets. Cano debuted at No. 34 on Billboard’s Emerging Artists chart (dated Jan. 18), thanks to four breakout singles on the Hot Latin Songs including “Soy el Diablo,” in collaboration with Bad Bunny, “Disfruto Lo Malo,” “Ella,” featuring Junior H, and “Amor Tumbado.” Signed to Rancho Humilde, Cano is currently making the rounds with his all-trap album Trap Tumbado.

Nicki Nicole
Age: 19

Hailing from Rosario, Argentina, Nicki Nicole is making a name for herself in the growing Argentine Trap scene. Her debut album, Recuerdos, released under Dale Play Records in 2019, includes collaborations with renowned trap artists Duki and Cazzu. With her dulcet vocals and infectious tracks, such as “Wapo Traketero” and “Colocao,” Nicki already counts with entries on the Billboard Argentina Hot 100 chart.

Ruben Figueroa
Age: 19

From Sonora, Mexico, Ruben Figueroa is bringing a mix of corridos sierreños, urban bops, romantic lyrics and corridos verdes to the scene. Figueroa’s debut album La Historia Cambió dropped last month under DEL Records. The 12-song set, according to an official statement, was done with lots of love for the people who support his career and believe in his musical proposal.

Sergio JR.
Age: 19

Sergio JR. (real name: Sergio Calderon Jr.) is a former member of the American group In Real Life. Earlier this year, the Mexican-American crooner kicked off his solo career, dropping his captivating single “No Es Facil.” As a solo artist, Sergio’s musical proposal fuses reggaeton, tropical, romantic ballads, and more fresh melodies.

Age: 13

Valeria Fernández, artistically known as VF7, is a Puerto Rican rising act who’s engaging a new generation of music lovers with her catchy reggaeton tunes. Recently, VF7 had her first-ever show at El Coliseo de Puerto Rico as part of its “Quarantine Live Concerts Series.” “I always dreamed of singing at el Choli. I am very excited and I want it to be huge. I will give it my all for all my fans around the world,” VF7 said in a statement. At 13 years old, she’s already landed collaborations with Rauw Alejandro and Adexe & Nau.

Age: 15

Also new to the game is 15-year-old Puerto Rican artist Xylon, who with his danceable tracks, such as “Vamonos,” “Dike U Dike A,” and “Chau Chau,” is bringing his touch of freshness to the reggaeton scene. Xylon is currently making the rounds with his Candyland-inspired “Chau Chau Remix” video featuring VF7 and JuanFran.
