Australia has had a ‘massive increase’ of incarceration rate in the last decade
Institute of Public Affairs’ Daniel Wild says we have a “massive increase” of incarceration rate across Australia in the last decade.
“It’s much higher than any comparable nation with a similar legal system to ours,” Mr Wild told commentator Steve Price.
“Yet we’re not getting the returns in terms of better outcomes for community safety.
“We need to be incarcerating more of those who are committing violent offences.
“We need to have root and branch reform of our criminal justice system across all of the states to improve safety and save taxpayer money.”
