Renewed police push to find missing elderly Sydney man
There has been a renewed push to find an elderly man missing from Sydney’s west after an extensive search failed to locate him.
Kenneth Hanes, 73, was last seen leaving his home on Chase Drive, Acacia Gardens, about 40km west of the city about midday last Tuesday.
Police were called after he failed to return home later in the day but despite an extensive search of the area he hasn’t been found or contacted.

On Sunday police released further CCTV images of Mr Hanes as part of a renewed appeal for information to try and find him.
It’s been revealed he arrived at Circular Quay train station about 2.30pm on Tuesday and boarded the 3.30pm Manly ferry.
He was then seen boarding a returning ferry at Manly Wharf about 8.05pm.
He was wearing a black jumper over a long sleeve blue check shirt, dark coloured pants, brown hiking shoes and carrying a black and red backpack.
Mr Hanes earlier had boarded a bus at Wilson Rd, Acacia Gardens about 12.40pm that travelled towards Blacktown train station.
At that point in time he was wearing a blue and white striped polo shirt, dark coloured pants and brown hiking shoes. He was also carrying the same backpack.
Police and family continue to hold serious concerns for Mr Hanes’ welfare due to his disappearance being out of character.
Mr Hanes is described as caucasian, about 160cm tall with a thin build and short grey hair and brown eyes.
Anyone who may have seen or spoke to Mr Hanes or has information on his whereabouts has been urged to contact Quakers Hill police station on 9838 2199 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
