‘They need a Voice’: Indigenous ‘No’ campaigners ‘undermine their own argument’
No campaigners have “undermined their own argument” as they “complain” Indigenous people opposed to the Voice to Parliament “aren’t being listened to” by the government, says Sky News host Chris Kenny.
His comments come after “no government members” attended a delegation of Indigenous people campaigning against the Voice in Canberra on Wednesday.
“If the ministers were reproached I think they should have met with this group – it’s just good manners,” Mr Kenny said.
“It’s a bit of a stretch for the No campaigners now isn’t it, to try to use this as proof of their arguments – they complain that a group of Indigenous people aren’t listened to by government while they oppose the Voice.
“Don’t they understand what the aim of the Voice is, to make sure that Indigenous views are heard by government?
“It seems the No campaigners have just undermined their own argument – they need a Voice.”
