Trump’s indictment would ‘increase his political clout’ in the Republican Party
Former US president Donald Trump’s indictment would “increase his political clout” in the Republican Party, says Centre of the American Experiment President John Hinderaker.
“We could have the spectacle of a former president going in front of a very hostile jury in New York that probably would convict him, and then you have appeals and so on; this could go on for a long time,” he told Sky News host James Morrow.
“If you look at the political ramifications in the short-term it is certainly going to increase Trump’s popularity, increase his political clout in the Republican Party but none of us really know how it’s really going to play out.”
