Patrol officers made an arrest after a foot chase Friday night after a knifepoint robbery was reported at a business on Rideau Street near King Edward Avenue.

Police allege that a man walked into the business at about 9:40 p.m., produced a knife and demanded an employee hand over an item. When another employee tried to intervene, they were threatened with the knife, police said.

A 31-year-old Gatineau man was to appear in court Saturday on charges including two counts of robbery with a weapon, possession of a weapon for the purpose of committing an offence and two counts of breach of probation.
