Gatineau motorist nets $1,459 fine, 14 demerits for whopping 77 km/h over limit
A 29-year-old Gatineau man lost his licence for a week and faces a whopping fine and more than a dozen demerits after his vehicle was clocked at 177 km/h in a 100 km/h stretch of the eastbound Highway 50 Wednesday.
The tally was a $1,459 speeding ticket, 14 demerits and a one-week licence suspension issued after the traffic stop at about 1:30 p.m. near Buckingham Avenue, the Sûreté du Québec said.
