Gatineau police probe fourth homicide of 2020 after man found unconscious in Old Hull

Gatineau police are investigating the city’s fourth homicide of the year after man was found an unconscious on Eddy Street in the Old Hull sector Friday night.

Emergency services were called at about 8 p.m. indicating that an unconscious and injured man had been found at 187 Eddy St., near Garneau Street.

Paramedics gave medical assistance and transported the victim to the hospital.

He succumbed to his injuries a little later.

A large crime scene perimeter was erected around the scene and investigators called in police services including search dogs and drone operators.

The search scene was reopened at about 4 a.m.

The crime scene at 187 Eddy St. remained closed under police surveillance Saturday morning.
