Two residents, two firefighters injured in Gatineau apartment fire

Two residents and two firefighters were injured Thursday morning in a two-alarm fire at a small apartment building at 190 St-André St. in Gatineau.

Firefighters were called to the building in Gatineau’s Lac Beauchamp area at about 5:30 a.m. and found the fire fully engaged.
One person was not accounted for, but firefighters found them. The person was taken to hospital.
The two firefighters were also taken to hospital.
Firefighters said that one of the residents suffered serious injuries.
Gatineau fire called a second alarm to bring more personnel and equipment to the blaze.
The fire was declared under control at 11:39 a.m.
Five people were displaced and were taken in by Red Cross.
Damages were estimated at $217,425.
Gatineau police are investigating the case.
