NBA DFS: Kevin Durant and best FanDuel, DraftKings daily Fantasy basketball picks for April 2, 2022

The 2021-22 NBA regular season is winding down but there are still a number of teams fighting for playoff positioning as we reach the final few games. But there are also teams that are secure in their playoff position choosing to rest their players and NBA daily Fantasy players have to pay close attention to updates before they set their NBA DFS lineups. And with three late games on Saturday night between teams who are still fighting for a better seed, there will still be plenty of stars in the NBA DFS player pool.

The Warriors don’t have Stephen Curry (foot) but Jordan Poole has been on an absolute tear of late, scoring at least 20 points in 15 consecutive games. He’ll be a popular option for NBA DFS rosters, as will stars like DeMar DeRozan, Bam Adebayo, Rudy Gobert and Kyrie Irving. But before you make your NBA DFS picks, be sure to check out the NBA DFS advice, player rankings, stacks and top daily Fantasy basketball picks from SportsLine’s Mike McClure.

McClure is a DFS professional with nearly $2 million in career winnings. He’s also a predictive data engineer at SportsLine who uses a powerful prediction model that simulates every minute of every game 10,000 times, taking factors like matchups, statistical trends and injuries into account.

This allows him to find the best NBA DFS values and create optimal lineups that he shares only over at SportsLine. They’re a must-see for any NBA DFS player.

On Friday, McClure listed Nuggets center Nikola Jokic in his top NBA DFS picks on both DraftKings and FanDuel. The result: Jokic had 38 points, 19 rebounds and eight assists to return 75.25 points on DraftKings and 71.8 points on FanDuel. Anybody that included them in their lineups was well on the way to a profitable day.

Now, McClure has turned his attention to the Saturday, April 2, NBA DFS slate and locked in his top daily Fantasy basketball picks. You can only see them by heading to SportsLine.

Top NBA DFS picks for Saturday, April 2

One of McClure’s top NBA DFS picks includes rostering Nets forward Kevin Durant ($11,000 on DraftKings and $10,800 on FanDuel). The 12-time NBA all-star missed 27 games this season with a knee injury but he made his return on March 3 and has gone on to post seven 30-point games in the 14 contests since he got back into the lineup, including a 53-point performance against the Knicks on March 13.

Durant is averaging 29.6 points, 7.3 rebounds and 6.2 assists per game this season but averaged 30.6 points, 7.1 rebounds and 7.3 assists per game during the month of March. In two games against the Hawks this season, Durant has averaged 31.5 points per game while shooting 59.5 percent from the floor and he’s now put up at least 50 points on FanDuel and DraftKings in five of his last six games.

Another part of McClure’s NBA DFS strategy is rostering Heat small forward Jimmy Butler ($8,100 on DraftKings and $7,800 on FanDuel). The six-time NBA All-Star is averaging 21.3 points, 5.9 rebounds and 5.5 assists per game this season and is shooting 47.6 percent from the floor to help Miami get ahold of the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference.

And after battling some nagging injuries, he’s scored at least 20 points in five of his last six games, including 24 points in a critical win over the Celtics on Wednesday. Now, Butler and the Heat will get the Bulls on two days rest and the Bulls rank 20th in the NBA in defensive rating (112.8). Chicago also could have weary legs as it is coming off a grueling overtime win against the Clippers on Thursday.
