Rachael Ellering is ready to deliver and prove she can stand toe-to-toe with IMPACT Wrestling’s best.

Ellering spoke with WrestleZone ahead of her match against Kiera Hogan on this week’s episode of IMPACT Wrestling, just nine days before Fire N Flava challenge Ellering and Jordynne Grace for the Knockouts Tag Team Championship.

“Those two are special. They’ve got great personalities and they’re funny and witty, I have a lot of respect for them. They truly have earned their spot in IMPACT, and they were worthy champions,” she said. “It was a big deal for us to defeat them.”

Ellering and Hogan have shared the ring before, but this is their first-ever singles match against each other. Prior to this year, they competed in a three-way match (that also featured AEW’s Kris Statlander) for Queens Of Combat back in 2018. Ellering said she can see how much Hogan has grown as a performer, and their singles match is also a chance to prove herself against one of the best wrestlers in the company.

“As for Kiera individually, much like Jordynne and myself, I can see the growth in her from that three-way match that you mentioned a couple of years ago. She’s a totally different person, a totally different performer. She’s found herself and I think that comes across in both her confidence in-ring,” Ellering explained, “but also her pure performance in the ring. I think she found what fits her and what she’s comfortable with, and how she can deliver every single week.”

“You said it—she’s one of the premier girls in the company, so as a competitor, there’s nothing more that I want than to stand toe-to-toe with people like that and see where I stack up. Especially after what was kinda a year off just because of the pandemic, it’s a good way to get out there and to individually see where I stand and what I can do and deliver. I think the fans are in for a treat tonight because she’s great, I feel ready and on top of my game, so I think the matchup will be great.” she said. “I’m very excited for that. I’m sure there will be a lot of chitter-chatter with those two [laughs] so that will require a little focus on my part, but I think I can deliver.”
