SPOILERS: Returning star, WWE Hall Of Famer slated for tonight’s WWE SmackDown
WWE will be airing a live episode of SmackDown and taping next week’s episode (September 2) from the Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, MI, tonight as the crew will be over in the UK next week for the Clash at the Castle event.
Fightful Select reports a couple of familiar names are expected back.Former WWE Champion and Hall Of Famer JBL is slated to be used in some capacity at the show. It’s unclear whether he will be on tonight’s episode or next week’s show.
WWE has used him off and on for years, whether as a commentator or pre-show analyst.
Also, Xavier Woods is set to return to the ring after missing all of August after he was written off TV by Viking Raiders when Erik and Ivar hit him with several weapons, including a steel chair. The Viking Raiders and The New Day have been feuding for weeks.

Early creative plans had Woods slated to appear on Friday’s episode of SmackDown.
