Ocean Casino Resort Partners With Interactive Gaming and Sports Betting Company Elys Game Technology
Ocean Casino Resort announced its new partnership with sports betting supplier USBookmaking earlier this month. USBookmaking is a subsidiary of the leading interactive gaming company Elys Game Technology. The announcement means that the company can launch its retail sports betting operations in the state of New Jersey at Ocean Casino, pending regulatory approval.
Ocean Casino Resort is one of Atlantic City’s newer casino properties. It opened its doors in July 2018 to occupy the former Revel Casino. The casino already has an online sportsbook, which also launched in July 2018. Readers can discover more about Ocean Online Casino reviewed by industry experts here. The property has a land-based sportsbook. Both were previously run by William Hill, but now William Hill has been taken over by Ocean’s main rival Caesars Entertainment Ocean needed a new provider.
The latest partnership with Elys Game Technology opens the doorway for USBookmaking to take over the land-based and online sportsbook of Ocean Casino Resort. Known for their innovative sports betting offerings, Elys Game Technology’s trading management services and retail solutions should bolster Ocean Casino Resort’s sports betting offerings to the next level. The partnership is scheduled to being in March 2022. The launch of online and retail operations is subject to regulatory approvals from the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement.
When speaking about the latest collaboration in a press release, Interim Chief Executive Officer for Ocean Casino Resort Bill Callahan said, “We are excited to partner with USBookmaking to capitalize on their expertise, offering a best-in-class experience… As Ocean continues to strengthen its position within Atlantic City, the addition of a renowned organization such as USBookmaking should only serve to bolster our land-based wagering product.”
USBookmaking is equally as pleased with the latest partnership and deepening their relationship with the Atlantic City casino. The sports betting provider’s parent company Elys Game Technology is currently operating in Italy and provides services to over 1,200 different gaming sites. Built in the competitive European market, the company’s sports wagering product utilizes the latest technology and could be a formidable player in the New Jersey sports betting market.
Elys Game Technology has already entered the North American market after forming partnerships with six tribal casino properties. However, its latest partnership with Ocean Casino Resort is part of its expansionist plan to truly break into the competitive US market and further afield. Michele Ciavarella, Executive Chairman of Elys Game Technology said, “We are just starting our global expansion plan and fully expect to see rapid adoption of our advanced Elys Gameboard betting technology in the United States and Canada in the coming months.”
The two companies should indeed make a strong and formidable pair. Elys Game Technology has over 125 years of experience in the gaming industry, while Ocean Casino Resort has a strong understanding of the Atlantic City market and the features that New Jersey players are looking for in a sports betting provider. The combination of market experience and cutting-edge technology should make the provider’s entry into the competitive Atlantic City market a success.
Following the announcement of the new partnership, Ocean Casino Resort has also announced that plans for their latest refurbishment will be revealed next year. The casino is reinvesting $75 million through a joint venture with Luxor Capital to improve the venue. Currently, the games floor of the Ocean Casino Resort spans 135,000 square feet, containing 1,720 slot machines and 108 table games. Ocean is also home to 1,399 hotel rooms and suites, 13 dining options including four up-scale restaurants, a 40,000 square foot spa, a 4,500 seat concert venue, and 160,000 square feet of meeting space.
The $75 million is going towards creating a new entertainment space. There will be an additional 460 guest rooms and suites added to the 1,399 already there. Ocean Casino Resorts also seeks to renovate its casino floor and add a new high-limit area exclusively for high-rollers with large gambling budgets. The aim of the work and the latest partnership with Elys Game Technology is part of Ocean’s plant to strengthen its position in the Atlantic City market.
Ocean Casino Resort is indeed already outperforming several of the Atlantic City Casinos. Only the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino and Ocean Casino Resort are outperforming their pre-pandemic 2019 amount of land-based gambling revenue. Ocean was also the best performing casino in Atlantic City in terms of gross operating profit during the 2020 coronavirus year. Its latest partnership should further bolster its position and success in the market, making it one of the most formidable properties in New Jersey.
